| I
use the dormant period of our long winters to explore new territory in the studio.
I use a variety of papers and grounds together with various combinations of watercolor,
soft pastels, acrylics, ink and oil pastels to develop ideas that have come to
mind throughout the year. I am moved by the rhythms of nature, the explosion of
color in my gardens, the textures and patterns of light in the woodlots and fields
on our farm and the variety found in leaves, lichen and the tide pools in Maine.
By combining media I am able to express my fascination with being witness
to the richness of nature and mind. |
